PHP Backend Engineer
Neopix Engineering Department is in need of an experienced PHP Backend Engineer.
If you enjoy building and growing digital products with an in-house team of designers, engineers and QAs, and you have previous experience in the same or similar role - you're the one we've been looking for.
Even though we don't work with WordPress, we are seeking for someone who can agree that the "Code is Poetry".

Your career so far
You love to code. You didn’t pick this industry, it picked you. You’re not here for the prestige or popularity, you want to make great stuff - the kind that people actually choose to use because it makes their day-to-day easier.
You have:
- 2+ years of experience working as PHP developer on commercial projects;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Knowledge of at least one modern PHP framework (Laravel, Symfony, Yii or similar);
- Successfully used ORMs without causing performance problems and are not afraid to write raw SQL queries when needed;
- Understanding of git-flow and the difference between merge, rebase, and squash;
- Passion for building secure, performant, and beautiful code.
Nice-to-haves:
- Enthusiasm for writing unit and functional tests;
- Experience with using Docker as development environment;
- Understanding of Continuous Integration pipelines;
- Familiarity with various species of elephpants :)

Here's your daily life at Neopix:
- Use latest technologies from day 1 - PHP 8.2, Laravel 10, and MySQL 8;
- Design and implement new features according to the given specification;
- Research and integrate new web technologies;
- Write tests that will run on a continuous integration server 24/7 to ensure code testability, code coverage, and quality conforms to the industry's highest standards;
- Take an active part in code reviews;
- Analyze project performance and refactor existing code if needed;
- Supporting continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
